CLOB (Central Limit Order Book)
A central limit order book aggregates buy and sell orders, matching them at the best available price with time priority for orders at the same price level. CLOBs are the dominant price discovery mechanism for regulated securities markets — NYSE Pillar, Nasdaq INET, and now on-chain implementations like Hyperliquid and dYdX v4. For tokenized equities, the CLOB provides the institutional-grade matching infrastructure that AMM-based DEXs cannot replicate: tighter spreads, limit order support, and regulatory familiarity.
