ISIN (International Securities Identification Number)

ISINs (ISO 6166) are the universal identifier for tradeable financial instruments, mandated by MiFID II for all securities traded on EU venues and used globally for regulatory reporting, clearing, and settlement. As equities and bonds are tokenized, each on-chain token needs an ISIN mapping for regulatory compliance. ANNA (Association of National Numbering Agencies), DTCC, and GLEIF are building the infrastructure to assign and resolve ISINs for tokenized securities.
