vLEI (Verifiable LEI)

The verifiable LEI extends GLEIF’s LEI system with W3C Verifiable Credentials, enabling machine-verifiable proof that a person is authorized to act on behalf of a specific legal entity. vLEI credentials are issued through a trust chain anchored at GLEIF as the root of trust. For agentic commerce, vLEIs could serve as the institutional identity layer within KYA frameworks — cryptographic proof of which institution authorized an autonomous agent.
